Gabrielle Gabriel

Working with various healing techniques for over 20 years, I have found the gentle approach of CranioSacral therapy (CST) to be profoundly beneficial in helping to relieve many physical
and emotional ailments.

I first discovered CST in 2008. My son had been experiencing two years of recurring tonsillitis for which the prescribed medication had little to no affect. A friend suggested he try CST.
After just two treatments he has not suffered with tonsillitis since. I was so impressed with the results that I decided to train in CST myself.

CST can improve the quality of life for people suffering from a wide range of symptoms associated with:

Headaches and migraines

Neck and back pain

Stress and tension related disorders

Chronic fatigue

Fibromyalgia

PTSD

Depression and anxiety

Autism

Depression and anxiety

Testimonials:
“I came to see Gabrielle twice for different problems. The first time was for severe
osteoarthritis pain in my hips. The session helped me to relax my body, which was
completely knotted up in order to cope with the pain. The session helped me to recover, to
get a better quality of sleep and, above all, enormously relieved my pain.
The second time was because I was extremely tired and couldn’t get my energy back (I felt
like I was 10 years older). The session made me realise just how tense my body was, released
blocked emotions and gave my body a new and incredible sense of verticality. I left feeling
relaxed, with renewed energy and a wonderful sense of unity and joy (and 10 years
younger!)” Cybelle C.

“Gabrielle inspires complete trust and this helped me to feel completely at ease and receive
all the benefits of the treatment. I had never experienced CranialSacral therapy before but it
is so relaxing and the effects are long lasting and long reaching. I can highly recommend this
treatment and this very intuitive therapist, she’s amazing.” Julia K.

Acupuncture utilises tiny needles to influence the body’s natural ability to heal. It taps in to the body’s intrinsic intelligent energy, known in Chinese as Qi. By using a knowledge of the channel system within the body (the fascial planes laid down as the embryo develops in the womb), the style of acupuncture practiced will help to remove pathogenic energy, strengthen the entire organ system and give the body time and space to heal.  This form of acupuncture has been taught for 2000 years, and has been re-introduced more recently by Dr Wang Ju-Yi and his students.

Qi (think of it as electrical energy) is in every cell of your body, it is organised and alive.  Like any electrical thing (think of your computer!), it can go wrong, flow the wrong way, become static or be too much or too little.  This is the start of the disease process, and this is what acupuncture aims to help, promoting wellness and good health.

I have a Diploma in Acupuncture from the Scientific School of Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture (SSOMA) in Tunbridge Wells. The Dean (and my teacher) is Dr Dan Keown, formerly a doctor in Emergency Medicine, and author of the Amazon Bestseller Spark in the Machine as well as The Uncharted Body. The training blended the most up to date thinking of both Chinese Medicine and Western Science. If you want to find out more about acupuncture The Spark in The Machine is a great place to start.

I have a 25 year background within the NHS, working as a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist specialising in blood sciences.  I then worked more clinically as a Lead Transfusion Practitioner, and as a Service Manager for Theatres and Recovery.  Due to ill health, I could no longer remain in this role and decided to study both Chinese Medicine and the Feldenkrais Method as they were both integral to my healing.

I am in my third year of studying the Feldenkrais Method.  I found this to be an invaluable tool in my healing.  The Method teaches you through movement awareness what your habits are, and to let go of excess effort.  It gives you a range of movement options so that you can move efficiently and effectively.  It helps you to eliminate movement that is not helpful to your way of being.  It helps you connect deeply with yourself to enable you to move through life more easily.

I am committed to a more sustainable way of living – I aim to help you live more sustainably – by cherishing your greatest asset – yourself.  I believe that you need to take care of yourself and learn yourself to heal and thrive.

Person-centred Therapy

My name is Leigh Loveday (Dip.Couns, Reg MBACP) and I am a fully qualified person-centred counsellor and therapist and a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

I am passionate about what it means to be a human, our connection to ourselves and how we show up in our relationships. I love working together with you at your pace and with whatever you are comfortable bringing to sessions.

I view every human experience as wonderfully unique, alongside the belief that our perception of the world around us is also unique to the individual. It is my aim as your therapist, to view your life through your eyes and to feel what you feel. I believe that when a client feels genuine, non-judgemental love and care from the counsellor, a natural healing begins to take place. In addition to providing these conditions, I will be present in each session as my authentic, genuine self. This will enable you to feel safe enough to do the same and will encourage you to be open about your issues, fears and concerns.

I do not take the role of the expert; I believe that you hold all the answers within and during the process of therapy your innate wisdom will begin to emerge.

The quality of the relationship between therapist and client is the key to a successful therapeutic outcome. I am a warm, loving, and friendly individual and it is my hope that you feel comfortable, safe and relaxed in my company.

We begin by having an initial chat either on the phone or by video call, it’s your choice. This is usually half an hour, is free of charge and with no further obligation. This initial chat offers us the space to get to know each other before you embark on your healing journey with me, if that is what you choose to do.

I welcome you as you are and look forward to meeting you.

Couples Counselling

Are you struggling with your marriage or relationship? Do you want to put a stop to endless conflict and find new ways to connect and move forward? Or do you want to re-energise and revitalise your partnership?

I offer therapy for couples wishing to move past events or issues that are causing pain and disconnection, towards a more positive and connected future together. The way I work differs from conventional therapy in that we tend to not dwell on the past… We will work collaboratively to set realistic goals and talk about how to achieve them. This approach looks at the couples’ strengths and will work to build upon those instead of shining the spotlight at perceived weaknesses. The future orientated nature of this therapy and the focus on strengths and not weaknesses are beneficial for achieving and sustaining desired behavioural change.

I will be dedicated to your relationship and maintain an unbiased attitude towards you both. I will also help you both to express yourselves without feeling threatened or diminished in any way. My desire is to see you move towards each other with love, understanding and a renewed hope for the future.

We begin by having an initial chat either on the phone or by video call, it’s your choice. This is usually half an hour, is free of charge and with no further obligation. This initial chat offers us the space to get to know each other before you embark on your healing journey with me, if that is what you choose to do.

Individual sessions are £50 for 50 minutes and couples sessions are £70 for 50 minutes.

Cheryl Jenkins (CJ) PhD

Our body, or soma, is an amazing resource we can draw from once we learn how to sense,
feel and connect with it.

CJ has been exploring and practising various styles of bodywork and somatic therapies since 2000.
She has trained in a variety of modalities
and is offering Somatic Therapy including Pesso-Boyden psychotherapy, and Thomas Hanna
Somatics at The Blue Lotus Therapy Centre, Cornwall.

CJ is fascinated by what it means to be human and how we can engage, enjoy, and
experience life in a fulfilling way. Throughout her journey, CJ has focused on understanding
what can limit us, and stop us from living freely and fiercely, particularly because of trauma
and life challenges that might affect us physically, mentally and/or emotionally. A
cornerstone of her work is engaging with the body, the mind, and the brain so that we can
reconnect with all our senses – either with the breath, focused movements, and tuning into
sensations, images, memories, or anything else that may arise during the session. With CJ
gently guiding you, you will learn to engage and regulate your nervous system to find a
sense of ease and well being to help move forwards despite the challenges of life.
CJ is committed to providing her best for her clients and receives regular supervision from
her somatic therapy and bodywork mentors. CJ is a member of the National Council of
Integrative Psychotherapists and the British Complementary Medicine Association.
Which session might be best for you?

Somatic therapy offers the opportunity to create space, slow down and explore what’s
happening in your life, how you experience your life through your body, and how you might
expand your capacity to live more fully. CJ draws from a variety of somatic traditions to help
you connect with bodily sensations, movements, and feelings to engage with your felt
sense. When we connect with the felt sense of the felt self, awareness develops, insight
emerges, and shifts take place. This facilitates therapeutic change, emotional re-education,
integration of past and present challenges to create new possibilities for yourself and your
life, and reconnection with your power and agency.

Pesso-Boyden is a body-based psychotherapy method developed by Al Pesso and Diane
Boyden, two dancers who combined depth psychology and bodywork with the latest
neuroscience to help people have a felt-sense experience of getting their needs met,
creating a new blueprint to inform life. Clients report a lessening of the power of trauma or
unmet developmental needs and a greater connection with their true selves so that they
can experience more pleasure, satisfaction, meaning and connectedness with others in daily
life.

Thomas Hanna Somatics is movement-based re-education where you will learn to sense
and feel your soma (body) to engage (shorten), lengthen, release, and relax your tissues. It
can address physical issues such as lower back, neck, hip, jaw, pelvic, or knee pain or injuries
and postural problems. Somatics can help you find both physical and emotional resilience,
freedom in the breath and calm in the mind.

Laura Caddis

Laura is an Independent Nurse Prescriber who offers aesthetic injectable treatments with the aim to achieve a natural refreshed look. With fourteen years of varied nursing experience including working with the leading cosmetic and dermatology consultant doctors in the South West, Laura really enjoys seeing how these treatments can make a difference to her clients and boost confidence.

Anti-wrinkle injections may be used to soften and relax lines and wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes.

Dermal filler consists of hyaluronic acid gel which may be placed in and around the lips to produce a little volume and soften lines around the mouth. It may also be used to lift nasolabial folds or marionette lines to restore volume and decrease shadow in the lower face. A cheek enhancement may also be beneficial to define the cheeks and produce a little lift.

Profhilo skin rejuvenation is a lighter hyaluronic acid that is injected just beneath the surface of the skin to improve hydration and luminosity. It also stimulates collagen and elastin to remodel the skin and reduce laxity. This is suitable for any area on the body that suffers from signs of aging including: face, neck, decolletage, hands, upper arms, and abdomen.

Mapmymole skin checking service is also available at the clinic. Laura can use a specialist lens to take photos of up to three skin lesions that you may be concerned about. These are sent straight to a local consultant dermatologist, who will email you a full report with their professional opinion and advice on what steps to take next.

Laura would love to meet you for a consultation to discuss how these treatments may help you and create a bespoke treatment plan.

Appointments available on a Saturday morning.

Psychotherapy. What is most important to you?

Psychotherapy with me offers space for a collaborative enquiry over a short or longer period. It provides support both for addressing pressing concerns and, longer-term, for looking at intentions and desires for a fuller and more fulfilled life. We can, with my background and training, include body-work in order for you to experience better balance and greater relaxation. The corollary here is that improved mental wellbeing can help alleviate ailments and secondary symptoms from physical illness.

I am familiar with working with trauma and the ‘stuckness’ that can result. I can and do work ‘online’ via Zoom.

I also work with the assumption that the climate and ecological crisis affects us all at some level; we can, therefore, embrace ‘ecotherapy’ in our work together.

Touch for Health Kinesiology: the Flow of Life

Kinesiology as a form of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) uses muscle monitoring or ‘checking’ to get ‘biofeedback’, by way of evaluating information about energy circuits in the body. Touch for Health Kinesiology is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. Here, a range of non-invasive, fine-tuning types of touch are employed to harmonise imbalances of the chi meridians and their acupuncture points.

We call a session a ‘balance’, usually linked to a goal or intention that you bring, with the aim of improving health, posture, energy, coordination and relieving pain. Unlike other forms of physical therapy, rather than correct tension or overcharge, we support and stimulate weaker muscles and under-energised circuits, allowing the body’s inner wisdom and innate healing power to restore equilibrium and poise.

In this way, Touch for Health Kinesiology is truly holistic, encompassing psychological, biochemical and structural/physical functioning and well-being. In a session or ‘balance’ you are encouraged to be an active participant, in that way gaining both self-knowledge and tools you can use as self-help techniques to maintain health.

Systemic Constellations.

Although best known for exploring family dynamics,
systemic constellations are also a powerful tool for examining any and all of our
important relationships in life, including our relationship with Nature.

Constellations can represent or map other wider systems such as organisations,
and, for example, the hidden stories and influences of systemic racism, colonialism
or the gender divide.  They form part of my Men’s work. This is deep soul work that
directly reaches the parts that other practices can approach only slowly or rarely.

Systemic Constellations can reveal the undercurrents of our lives, the undertows that
sometimes take us to places where we do not want to be, or where we are unwell or
feel unsafe.
